This blog post is not sponsored by The Body Shop Malaysia and all my opinions are my own about the Olive Nourishing Body Lotion & Oil.

Olive oil has been used for centuries because of its innumerable benefits. It is known as the “liquid gold” of the Mediterranean. Olive oil has softening and restoring properties that make it much better than other oils. With many brands offering Olive Oil, it is hard to choose which one would be the best. Let’s take a look at Olive Oil by The Body Shop.

Olive Nourishing Dry Body Oil

Olive Nourishing Dry Body Oil for dry skin – RM109

Made with a blend of several nut oils, the olive oil worked amazingly for me. I have always preferred using olive oil over other oils, but the smell always takes it down a notch. But with the olive oil from The Body Shop, that was not a problem as the oil had a subtle fruity scent rather than a strong bitter smell. Although, the packaging could have been better. The cap got damaged in a bit of time which makes the bottle not travel-friendly.

As for the oil in general, it was a great experience. The oil is lightweight with no stickiness, and I noticed clear nourishment in my hair after using it once a week. The good thing about olive oil is that you can use it on your hair and your body. If you like your oil to be non-sticky, this is the best one for you. Overall, the experience was good but could be improved with a better bottle.

Advantages:

Enriched with Community Fair Trade olive oil from Italy and Moringa seed oil from Rwanda
  • Keeps lips soft
  • Good for massage
  • Great makeup remover
  • Hair nourishment properties
  • Vegan formula made with 98% natural origin ingredients

Disadvantages:

  • Non-travel-friendly, could easily leak
  • Expensive

FOR DRY SKIN – GREEN SCENT

Like most beauty product gurus, I, too, love the products of The Body Shop. When it comes to their body lotions, they have a wide range of products. I personally like the Shea Whip Body Lotion. The Body Shop olive body lotions have a light consistency, which is always durable. When I used the body lotions, I found them to be quick-absorbing. In addition, the lotion is generally non-greasy. After using the lotion, I felt my skin to be velvety soft. The moisturizing properties of the body lotion were amazing.

The prices of The Body Shop products are generally higher than other products available in the market (depending on each scent/flavors). But overall, I liked the product and found the quick-absorbing property to be the best. In addition, the lotion is generally very easy to spread and absorb and works on many skin types, such as normal to dry skin.

Advantages:

Enriched with Community Fair Trade organic cold-pressed olive oil from Cilento, Italy
  • Rich, creamy texture that melts into the skinNon-greasy
  • Quick-absorbing
  • Light texture
  • No pore-clogging
  • Two sizes available
  • Warm scent

Disadvantages:

  • Price is higher as compared to competitors
  • The smaller packaging does not come with a pump

The lotion has a warm scent, which is not irritable. I found the scent to be quite attractive, which is a plus point. There are two sizes available to select the one that suits you best.
